THE HAMMOCK: A DOG GROOMING FRIEND

​I recently bought my dog a hammock and I love it! If you groom your dogs or clip their nails, a hammock is something you have been waiting for. My dogs initially were somewhat stunned to be in a hammock. 

While ideally, I adore the cooperative training and my Havanese are fairly cooperative, especially when it comes to treats. Nails seem to be a whole other category. So I bought this because quite frankly some of my Havanese are just ornery about having their nails clipped. Even though their paws are messed with on a daily basis!

​The hammock makes it easier for them, and for me. They can relax and I can clip them nails. No discussions, pleas, or outright "not today!".  It is no longer a struggle between me and them. I am now a third party and can sit back until they figure it out. I don’t fight them, get scratched, or struggle with clipping their nails.

Starting: 
You need a grooming table and an overhead arm if you do not have one. Grooming overhead arms come in two lengths so be sure to get the one that fits your grooming table. Lay the hammock on the table and help your dog step into the hammock, then gather the loops up and hook them onto the overhead arm. Viola! You are ready to begin!
